The Bruin Resource Center’s Veterans Resource Office (VRO) provides caring and personalized support to UCLA undergraduate and graduate student veterans in the transition from military service to civilian and college life. We help our veterans navigate UCLA and provide a welcoming space, mentoring from student veterans, guidance on educational benefits and tools to succeed academically and personally. We value the skills, assets and experiences veterans bring to the UCLA community and are committed to helping them achieve to their goals and aspirations. The VRO also increases campus awareness of student veteran issues and fosters a sense of belonging, community and well-being for all student veterans on campus.

  • Help you navigate the campus and its bureaucracy
  • Invite you to workshops and social events throughout the year
  • Connect you with other student veterans on campus

Inform the University of your Veteran Status

Submit a copy of your DD214 to Bernard Llanos at the Registrar’s Office, 1113 Murphy Hall.

Are you planning to use Veterans Education Benefits?

The GI Bill is available to both eligible veterans and eligible dependents/spouses of veterans.  Please visit the VA Education website at www.gibill.va.gov to inquire about, and apply for, the GI Bill.

If you are a dependent or spouse of a service-connected disabled or deceased veteran, you may be eligible for the “Cal Vet” College Fee Waiver program. Please visit the following website to inquire about, and apply for, the College Fee Waiver program.

If you are approved for any Veterans Education Benefits, you will be given a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), award, or authorization letter.  Please submit this document to Bernard Llanos at the Registrar’s Office, 1105 Murphy Hall.  You may also fax this document to (310)206-4520, Attn: Bernard Llanos.
