Welcome Reception

At the beginning of each academic year the UCLA Veterans Resource Office hosts a welcome reception for all of the undergraduate and graduate student veterans on campus. Enjoy food and drinks while meeting your fellow student veterans, as well as members of the UCLA administration, who will be stopping by to show their support for veterans. The welcome reception is a great environment for networking and for making new friends.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a day where Americans come together to celebrate those who served in the United States Armed Forces. At UCLA, the Veterans Resource Office hosts the annual UCLA Warrior Games. The Warrior Games provides a venue where both the UCLA student body and student veterans can come together in celebration of Veterans Day with food, music, and some friendly competition.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is the day that America remembers those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of their nation. The student veterans of UCLA celebrate Memorial Day by participating in a variety of events. Some of the previous year’s events have including a barbecue with family and friends and an event where UCLA student, staff, and alumni remove gravestone flags at the Los Angeles National Cemetery after Memorial Day.

This year, the UCLA Anderson Veteran Association will be hosting 24 Hour Memorial Day Run. Please see below for details regarding the event.

Wednesday, May 22 at 4:00pm -Thursday, May 23at 4:00pm @ Stairs at the UCLA Anderson School of Management

Come join the Anderson Veterans Association for the 4th Annual 24-hour Memorial Day Charity Relay Run!  The run will take place from May 22nd to May 23rd, ending with Anderson Afternoons before the long weekend.  The run is free, but donations are encouraged.  As an added bonus, a $20 donation will get you an awesome t-shirt!  Even better, get friends, family, or future employers to sponsor every mile you run.  100% of the proceeds will be going to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, so come and join a good cause in support of our brothers and sisters that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Sign up for a 20-minute time slot (or a few) here.  Running in groups is encouraged!
